Jonathan sacks NPA boss, appoints Abdullahi as replacement

Abuja (WorldStage Newsonline)-- President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mr. Habibu Abdullahi as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). He takes over from Engr. Omar Suleiman who has been relieved of his appointment.

The new Managing Director, formerly the Acting Executive Director (Finance & Administration) of the NPA hails from Kano State. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Masters Degree in Public Administration.

According to a statement by the media aide to the president, Dr. Reuben Abati, the Federal Government has also carried out changes in the transportation sector, with the appointment of three new Executive Directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority. They are Engr. David Omonibeke (Executive Director, Marine & Operations); Mr. Mohammmed Sani Saleh (Executive Director, (Engineering & Technical Services); and Mr. Olumide Oduntan, Executive Director, Finance & Administration).

The appointment of three new Executive Directors for the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) were also approved by the President. They are Captain Ezekiel Bala Agaba, Executive Director, (Maritime Safety & Shipping Development); Barrister Obi Callistus Nwabueze, (Executive Director, Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services); and Mr. Baba Haruna Jauro, (Executive Director, Finance & Administration).

All the appointments are with immediate effect.
