WorldStage Newsonline-- Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed for the first time in two weeks on a bearish note, with a total of 411,974,405 shares worth N3.1 billion of shares exchanging hands in 4,694 deals while 22 equity stocks appreciated in price as against 26 that depreciated.
The NSE market capitalisation dropped to N7.374 trillion at the close of trading as against N7.431trillion on Wednesday, representing a drop of 0.77 per cent while the All share Index also declined by 0.77 per cent to stand at 23,098.21 as against 23,277.30 yesterday.
Conoil Nigeria Plc led the gainers' table with a gain of N1.13 kobo to close at N23.76 kobo per share, Dangote Sugar Plc gained N4.53 kobo to close at N0.21 kobo per share and Okomu Oil gained N1.38 kobo per share to close at N29.90 kobo .
UAC Foods led the losers' chart by shedding N0.49 kobo to close at N9.36 kobo per share, followed by
Cement Company of Northern Nigeria that shed N0.22 kobo per share to close at N4.25 kobo per share and Avon Crown plc N0.12 kobo per share to close at N2.42 kobo per share.
