NSE index drops 0.67%, as Nestle, Bagco, Berger gain

WorldStage Newsonline-- Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), closed on a negative note Monday as 266,657,216 shares worth N2.1 billion exchanged hands in 4,432 deals while 24 equity stocks appreciated in price as against 27 that depreciated.

Consequently  market  capitalisation dropped by N53 billion to close at N7.854 trillion as against  N7.907 trillion recorded Friday, representing a drop of 0.67 per cent while the All share Index also dropped by 0.67 per cent 24,671.47 from 24,838.70 Friday.

Nestle Nigeria led  the gainers' table with a gain of N27.50 kobo to close at N577.50 kobo per share, Bagco gained N0.09 kobo to close at N1.89kobo per share and Berger gained N0.38 kobo to close at N8.01 kobo per share.

Cadbury led the losers' chart by shedding N1.10 kobo to close at N20.90kobo per share, followed by UTC  Nigeria  that shed N0.03 kobo per share to close at N0.57kobo per share and Wapico N0.03 kobo per share to close at N0.57kobo per share.
