NSE index up 0.14%, as Paint Company, May and Baker, Custodian & Allied Insurance lose
WorldStage Newsonline-- Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on a positive note Thursday with a total of 363,935,961 shares worth N2.351 billion exchanged hands in 4,818 deals while 25 equity stocks appreciated in price as against 28 that depreciated.
Consequently market capitalisation appreciated by N11 billion to close at N7.545trillion as against N7.534 trillion recorded Wednesday, representing a rise of 0.14 per cent while the All share Index also rose by 0.14 per cent to stand at 23,704.34 as against 23,670.11 Wednesday.
Okomu oil Nigeria led the gainers' table with a gain of N1.50 kobo to close at N31.50 kobo per share, SMURIT paint gained N0.07 kobo to close at N1.48kobo per share and ROADS plc gained N0.36kobo to close at N7.64 kobo per share.
Paint Company led the losers' chart by shedding N0.11 kobo to close at N2.09 kobo per share, followed by May and Baker Nigeria plc that shed N0.07 kobo per share to close at N1.33 kobo per share and Custodian And Allied Insurance N0.06 kobo per share to close at N1.15 kobo per share.
