WorldStage Newsonline-- Transaction on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Tuesday, closed on a positive note, with high number of equity stocks dominating the gainers’ table.
At the close of trading a total 205,956,992 shares worth N1.6 billion of shares exchanged hands in 3,792 deals while 28 equity stocks appreciated in price as against 21 that depreciated.
The NSE market capitalisation rose to N6.924 trillion at the close of trading as against N6.886 trillion recorded Monday, a rise of 0.6 per cent while the All share Index also rose by 0.6 per cent to stand at 21,690.54 as against 21,571.67 Monday.
Paint Company of Nigeria led the gainers' table with a gain of N0.10 kobo to close at N2.10 kobo per share, 7UP Plc gained N1.91 kobo to close at N40.22 kobo per share and Livestock gained N0.05 kobo to close at N1.08 kobo per share.
Eterna led the losers' chart by shedding N0.15 kobo to close at N2.85 kobo per share, followed by Avon Crown Nigeria plc that shed N0.14 kobo per share to close at N2.61 kobo per share and Transcorp Plc N0.05 kobo per share to close at N0.98 kobo per share.
