Nigeria: FG records highest ever capital projects spending at N1.3tr in 2016

WorldStage Newsonline-- Nigeria’s Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo has confirmed a N1.3trillion spending on  capital projects in 2016, the highest by any government in the country.

Speaking Monday during a plenary session at the 2017 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Conference themed: ‘African Business: Penetrating Through Institution Building,” in Lagos, Osinbajo said, “The power sector reform is also ongoing as it is one of the most important sectors in the country.”

During the session titled: “Conversations With The Vice-President,” Osinbajo said the most important reform of this administration had been the setting of foundation for the nation’s economic recovery.

Affirming that government had cleared the mess inherited from previous administration, he said, “We have set a foundation of rebuilding the economy, creating the Single Treasury Account (TSA), monitoring government spending, modified the tax system to be more efficient and implemented executive orders.”
